About the Role
Axis AI Studios is an AI-native vertical drama production company. We produce 9:16 short-form serialized drama using AI-native workflows from script to delivery.
We are building a bench of directors and creative leads for our project pipeline. We are moving quickly and want quality people involved.
The role is open to directors as the primary focus, but we are also interested in hearing from other creative leads with relevant vertical drama experience. If you work in the format and want to be part of what we are building, reach out.
What You Will Do
Direct 9:16 short-form serialized drama episodes from brief to delivery
Work within lean, fast production timelines with AI-native workflow support
Maintain visual consistency, performance quality, and format discipline across a full episode series
Collaborate closely with the production team on pacing, hook structure, and cliffhanger execution
Be available on short notice once a project goes live
What We Look For
Experience directing vertical drama, short-form drama, or scripted serialized content
Vertical drama background strongly preferred. Short-form and fast-turnaround experience considered
Comfortable with lean productions and compressed schedules
AI-native workflow experience is a plus, not required
Available on relatively short notice once a project is confirmed. If your current notice period is longer, still reach out. We want to talk to quality people now
Rate
Project-based. Rate is discussed per project depending on scope, episode count, and commitment level. We prefer someone open to talking terms once client details are clear.
