Region-level editing is the capability that eliminates the most common revision-without-regeneration problem in vertical drama production. In Seedance 2.0, a generation output that has a correct character performance but an incorrect background element requires a full regeneration of the entire scene. The operator cannot edit only the background while preserving the character performance that passed the quality review.
With region-level editing, the operator can select the background region of an approved character performance output and edit only that region, preserving the character performance that already passed the quality review. The corrected output contains the approved character performance with the corrected background element, without requiring a full scene regeneration.
The production workflow change: the revision rate for background element inconsistencies, which is currently one of the most common minor revision categories in Seedance 2.0 production, drops significantly. A background element that does not match the style guide's approved environment reference is corrected through region-level editing rather than through full scene regeneration. The operator time previously spent on full scene regenerations for minor background corrections is redirected to generation of new scenes.
What Does Not Change With Seedance 2.5
Not every vertical drama production workflow element is affected by the Seedance 2.5 release.
